Subscribing to Your Mail Folders
By default, Netscape Messenger will only display those mail folders which you have explicitly told it to display. Messenger calls this process "subscribing" to a folder. It is a simple process which you can go through following the steps below.
- Make sure Netscape Messenger has been configured correctly.
- Launch Messenger.
- Go to the "File" menu and select "Subscribe..."
- In the window that appears, make sure that USERNAME.mail.stolaf.edu (where USERNAME is your St. Olaf username) is listed after "Server." If not, select it from the pull-down list.
- The window below will display all of your mail folders along with any other miscellaneous files. Find the mail folder that you want to have displayed in your folder list and be able to access quickly.
- Click once on the folder and click on the "Subscribe" button. Alternatively, you can click on the small dot after the folder name. A check-mark will appear. If you are subscribed to a folder, a check-mark will appear in this "Subscribe" column. If you are not subscribed to a folder, the check-mark will not appear.
- If you want to unsubscribe from a folder, click once on the folder and click on the "Unsubscribe" button.
- Once you have selected and subscribed to the folders you want to display, click OK to close the window. Your subscribed mail folders will then appear in your folder list in Messenger.
