Installing and Using stoPrint in Macintosh OS X 10.4

To use stoPrint, you must first install the stoPrint software. Once installed, you can print to the stoPrint printer just like any other printer.

Installing the stoPrint Software
  1. Download the stoPrint software.
  2. After the installer (stoPrint-tiger.zip) is finished downloading, double-click on the file. This will open a window with the file "stoPrint-tiger.mpkg" in it.
  3. Double-click on stoPrint-tiger.mpkg to start the installer.
  4. Click Continue and then click Continue again.
  5. Select the destination for the install (typically something like "Macintosh HD") and click Continue.
  6. Click Install. You may be asked to enter an administrator username and password.
  7. When the installation has completed, click Close.

Configuring stoPrint for two-sided (duplex) printing
  1. Click on the Apple Menu and click System Preferences.
  2. Click Print & Fax.  Click the Lock icon and type in an administrator username and password.
  3. Click "stoPrint" in the printer list.
  4. Click "Printer Setup".
  5. In the Duplex Unit: field, select "Installed".
  6. Click "Apply Changes".
Using stoPrint
  1. When printing a document, select the stoPrint printer.
  2. When prompted, enter your username. Patrons with a St. Olaf username should enter their username. Other patrons should enter the email address associated with their Ole Card or Carleton Card.
  3. The print job will stay in the queue on the print server until it is released. Print jobs that are not released within 24 hours are automatically deleted.
  4. At one of the stoPrint multi-function copiers, swipe your card in the card reader and press Print.
  5. Press "Charge to personal account". If you have been authorized to charge print and copy jobs to a department account, you may select that instead.
  6. Press the print job in the list that you would like to print and press the green arrow. Your job will be printed.
