NetDrive vs. WS-FTP

  • NetDrive for PCs
NetDrive is a very user friendly application for server interaction. It allows the user to assign a network drive that acts like a normal Windows folder, but links directly to the server. It's main disadvantage is that isn't installed on most campus computers and is oriented to use by a single user. Thus you should only use NetDrive if you're working on non-public machines that are located on campus e.g., the computer in your room or office).

  • WS-FTP for PCs
WS-FTP is a slightly less user friendly application that is built to support multiple users. In addition, it is installed on all public computers on campus. If you are using a public computer or an off-campus computer you should use WS-FTP.
