Viewing your Page
Once your site has been uploaded you should be able to view it online by going to http://www.stolaf.edu/your_address. Your address can be found by taking the file location without the beginning /home/www. For example:
/home/www/services/iit/index.html
Corresponds to the web address:
http://www.stolaf.edu/services/iit/index.html
There is one exception to this rule. If you are building a personal page for the first time, then you must wait overnight until the server recognizes that you've created your index.html page and links it into the rest of the site. Then your web page will be located at
http://www.stolaf.edu/people/your_username/page_name
Where your_username is your email username and page_name is the name of your web page. This overnight wait only occurs once (when you create the initial index.html page). After that, changes and additions can be seen immediately.
