Resources for Web Developers

If you are responsible for maintaining web site content for your office or department or are interested in creating web pages on the St. Olaf site, you'll be happy to know that there are several tools available to assist you in creating professional and attractive pages.

Need help getting started? Check out the Building a Web Page at St. Olaf documentation.

Photo Library

Want to spice up your web site with some St. Olaf photos? Browse our photo library and follow the instructions to include the photos in your web site. Come back often — we'll add more photos in the future!

Dreamweaver Templates

Just as St. Olaf College has developed standards for print materials that bear the college's name and logo, the same theory applies to official college web sites: a common layout and design will provide a consistent, professional appearance and will facilitate user access to important information for many audiences. This starts with a set of templates that all of your pages will be based on. Find out more.

You can also learn more about Dreamweaver, if you aren't familiar with it.

Banner Creator

Create an attractive banner for your site using the banner creator and then use it in the Dreamweaver templates (instructions are included in the template information above). New banner images are added periodically to the Banner Creator so that you can change the banner on your site as your mood (or the seasons) change.

Poll Center

A great way to survey your users and add interactivity to your site, the Poll Center tool allows you to create polls in an easy three-step process and track results.
