Poster Printer Now AvailableIIT is pleased to announce that we now are set up to print wide format output, perfect for making posters! The Multimedia Development Center (MDC), located in RML 270, has a new Canon ImagePROGRAF W8400 wide-format printer. Unlike most printers that use sheet paper, this printer uses roll paper that makes it possible to print posters or banners 42 inches wide by up to 100 feet long. The Print Center is able to laminate the printouts if the width is limited to 26 inches or less. The printouts are excellent quality but do come at a premium price based on the width and length of the print. A 42” X 20” print would run about $21.00. Because of the complexity of the printer setup, the MDC requires a minimum of 72 hours turn around time. If you need any minor modifications or enhancements to the file (i.e., color enhancements) you need to add at least an additional 24 hours. The MDC can also design a poster for you. Graphics design work is done on a time available basis and is charged out at an hourly rate. If you want the MDC to design your poster you need to fill out a project request form found at http://www.stolaf.edu/services/iit/forms/service-request.cfm The MDC, originally funded by the Andrew Mellon Foundation, was created to serve the academic needs of the students and faculty. As such, administrative offices will receive service on a time-available basis.
