McNair Scholars Panel at MN TRIO DAY

On Saturday February 21st, more than 500 students from across the state gathered at Minneapolis Technical and Community College to celebrate National TRiO Day. TRiO Day is a student leadership conference that offers participants an opportunity to network with students involved in TRiO programs throughout Minnesota and attend workshops and seminars on a variety of topics such as college, career, and financial aid information.

Four TRiO McNair Scholars (Pictured from left to right): Brenda Ascensio, Demaya Riddley, Gavin Ancheta, and Sandy Yang were members of a college panel moderated by Melissa Hinderscheit, McNair Advisor. The panelists discussed their college experience, McNair summer research, plans for graduate school and their McNair experiences with attendees. The McNair Scholars highlighted the results of their research, which was professionally displayed on their posters. The TRiO students attending the panel presentation had many questions and positive feedback for the panelists.
