Operating Panasonic Digital Palmcorder (MiniDV)

- Slide this lever forward to pop open the slide of the camcorder. This will allow the extraction or insertion of the MiniDV tape that video will be recorded on. Insert the tape with the arrows facing down. In order to close the slide of the camcorder, gently press on the side, wait for the tape to be retracted into the camera, and then continue closing.
- In order to turn the camera on or off, press down on the small inner button and slide the whole button to the desired side.
- The viewfinder can be activated by pulling it away from the camera. It will not be activated if the LCD screen is flipped open.
- To open the LCD screen, pull it open towards the front of the camera. The LCD screen can then be rotated toward the lens (for filming oneself) or rotated up and down (for filming from awkward angles).
- If Photoshot mode is selected on the navigational wheel, clicking the Photoshot button will store a still image on the optional SD card.
- The zoom slider can be used to a maximum of a 10x optical zoom and a 700x digital zoom. Slide it towards the W to zoom out and towards the T to zoom in.
- The recording start/stop button and the navigational wheel.
- This slider allows the selection of manual focusing. When set to manual, adjust the focus using the directional pad on the navigational wheel.
- The menu button allows selection of settings and preferences. Use the directional pad on the navigational wheel to navigate the menus.
- The battery is slid into the camera until it clicks. To remove it for a recharge, turn the camera upside down and slide the battery release tab to release the battery.

PC Connect Mode- Must be set on this mode to view and edit the still pictures recorded on the optional SD card on a computer. Photo Playback Mode- Review still photos taken on the optional SD card. Photo Capture Mode- Record still photos on the optional SD card. Tape Playback Mode- Review video captured on the MiniDV tape. Tape Record Mode- Record video on the MiniDV tape. (If this mode is selected, it is also possible to simultaneously record still photos on an optional SD card.) Recording Start/Stop Button- When Tape Record Mode is set, this button starts and stops recording the video on the MiniDV tape. Directional Pad- This navigates through menus. Click in the center button to make selections.
