Pantone Matching System (PMS)
Pantone colors are what the multimedia print industry use in design so that what you see on the screen is what you will get on a print version. Pantone Inc. developed this in 2001 to match screen colors on computers, and it's been a standard ever since. When designing something you wish to print at a later date, it's advised to choose from the colors below to save future headaches. They have also just released a Color Matching Software in its beta version, free for Mac users. Download it here (registration required).
Using in Photoshop

Note: Not all computer screens will display these colors exactly as intended. The MDC has printed Pantone color books for accurate color matching.
