Sandra Aldana is from Bell Gardens, California. Sandra is undecided about her major, but she is thinking maybe business. Sandra would like to study aboard and hopefully see Paris and Spain. She would like to be involved in the French club, Spanish conversation table, and PEP while attending St. Olaf. When asked if there was something she would like to share about herself, she said, "I'm the only girl that is obsessed with wrestling."
Melissa Audette is from Andover, Minnesota. She wants to be an English, religion, and political science major. Melissa would also like to study abroad in Germany. While at St. Olaf, Melissa hopes to participate in many activities, such as the Manitou Messenger, Catholic Student Association, and community service at a local Northfield church. Melissa would also like to improve her grades, eventually graduate with honors from St. Olaf, and hopes that St. Olaf is a place to discover herself. For her, the best thing about PEP Summer Bridge Program is meeting the new people.
Patrick Bass is from Houston, Texas. Patrick wants to be a theatre major. He would also like to study off-campus to either New York or California. Patrick likes to play basketball, draw, and rap in his free time. While at St. Olaf, he hopes to get a spot on the basketball team and hopes to discover himself. When asked to share something unique about himself, Patrick said, "I paint my fingers and toe nails."
Viqui Carballo is from Minneapolis, Minnesota where she graduated from Washburn High School. She wants to be a Spanish elementary education major. Viqui would also like to study abroad to South Africa, Cuba, or Costa Rica. In her spare time, Viqui like to sleep, watch T.V., and playing basketball. For her, the best thing about PEP Summer Bridge Program is, all the help from the mentors and staff and all the preparation for college.
James Dawolo is from New Orleans, Louisiana where he graduated from McMain High School. James wants to be a communications major. In his spare time, he likes to weight lift, watch sports on T. V., watch movies, and play sports. When asked to share something unique about himself, James said, "I am a fun and outgoing person." For James, the best thing about the PEP summer bridge program is meeting all of the wonderful people.
Phuong Do is from Northfield, Minnesota where he graduated from Northfield High School. Phuong would like to get a degree in business. Phuong would also like to study abroad in Asia. In his spare time, Phuong likes to do martial arts, play soccer, and collect martial arts movies. For Phuong, the best thing about the PEP Summer Bridge Program is the activities that are planned every weekend.
Bill Green is from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Bill would like to major in paleontology, anthropology, and theatre as well as graduate from St. Olaf with honors. He would also like to study abroad to London, or off-campus in California or New York. Bill would like to be involved in PEP, track, band, student government, drama, CUBE, and Asian Awareness. In his spare time, he likes to go shopping, watching movies, painting, drawing, biking, playing sports, and making friends. For Bill, the best thing about the PEP Summer Bridge Program is meeting all the wonderful people.
Yan Jing is from Northfield, Minnesota. Yan wants to be a biology, pre-medicine and Asian studies major. Yan would also like to study abroad to either China or Japan, sometime while at St. Olaf. In her spare time, she likes to listen to music, read books, hang out with friends, and make new friends. For Yan, the best thing about the PEP Summer Bridge Program is making new friends before the school year starts. When asked to share something to share something unique about herself, Yan said, "I can't cook."
T.J. Kvilhaug is from South St Paul, Minnesota. T.J. wants to major in economics. In his spare time, he likes to play hockey, hang out with friends, and doing anything that relates to sports. While at St. Olaf, T.J. hopes to participate in the student government and play hockey for St. Olaf. For him, the best thing about the PEP Summer Bridge Program is how well it prepares you for college life.
Kristy Larson is from St. Ansgar, Iowa. Kristy wants to major in nursing. Kristy would also like to study abroad to Italy or any other European countries. While at St. Olaf, she hopes to graduate in four years and become a starter for the National Women's Basketball Association (WNBA) team. She would also like to be involved in PEP and Fellow Christian Athletes (FCA). In her spare time, Kristy likes to draw, sleep, ride horses, hang out with friends, play basketball, and run. When asked to share something unique about herself, Kristy said, "I can take the guys on any day when it comes to basketball."
Abi Lepe is from Bloomington, Minnesota. Abi wants to be a music vocal performance major. Shei would also like to study abroad to France, Italy, or London. While at St. Olaf, Abi hopes to graduate in four years and with honors, and would like to make friends that will last a lifetime. She would also like to be involved in choir, jazz band, MCSS, PEP, speech team, and theatre. In her spare time, Abi likes to read, sing, dance, talk, watch movies, and participate in theatre. When asked to share something unique about herself, Abi said, "I can do a great British accent."
Matt Malakowsky is from Hartland, Minnesota. Matt is undecided about his major, but is thinking maybe psychology. Matt would like to travel out of the country, but is not sure where he would go. In his spare time, he likes to hang out with his friends, listen to music, play basketball, football, and baseball. For Matt, the best thing about the PEP Summer Bridge Program is getting prepared for college and registering for classes early.
Jason McWilliams is from Rochester, Minnesota, where he graduated from Faith Christian School. Jason wants to get a degree in business. In his spare time, he likes to be outside, play basketball, and collect old comic books such as The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man, and Spiderman. For Jason, the best thing about the PEP Summer Bridge Program is making friends and getting to know the people on campus.
Erin Mulvihill is from Hampton, Minnesota, where she graduated from Randolph High School. Erin wants to be a biology, pre-medicine major. While at St. Olaf, she hopes to participate in PEP and intramural sports. In her spare time, Erin likes to play volleyball, listen to music, and run. For her, the best thing about the PEP Summer Bridge Program is the new people that she has met.
Larry Nava Jr. is from St. Paul, Minnesota, where he graduated from Cretin Derham Hall. He wants to get a degree in business. While at St. Olaf he hopes to participate in PEP. In his spare time, Larry likes to hang out with friends, fix cars, listen to music, play football and baseball, and likes wrestling. When asked to share something unique about himself, Larry said, "My favorite phrase is 'What's Crack'n'."
Nguyen-Ngoc Pham is from Rochester, Minnesota, where she graduated from Mayo High School. Nguyen-Ngoc wants to be a French, biochemistry, genetics, and pre-medicine major. While at St. Olaf, Nguyen-Ngoc would like to participate in the International Club. She would also like to study abroad in Asia, France, or India. In her spare time, Nguyen-Ngoc likes to walk, read books, dance, play badminton, day dream, explore nature, listen to music, and just hang out with friends. For her, the best thing about the PEP Summer Bridge Program is the biology class and the SI study sessions.
Anthony Rogers is from St. Paul, Minnesota, where he graduated from Como Park High School. Anthony wants to get a degree in business management from St. Olaf. Anthony would also like to study abroad in either Spain or Mexico. Some of the activities that he would like to participate are PEP and wrestling. In his spare time, Anthony likes to play video games, listen to music, play football, and wrestle. When asked to share something about himself, Anthony said, "I can dunk a basketball." For him, the best thing about the PEP Summer Bridge Program is meeting all the new people.
Heru Setiawan is from Washington D.C. Heru wants to major in economics. He would also like to travel to Africa or Asia for one of the St. Olaf study abroad programs. While at St. Olaf, Heru hopes to participate in student government. In his spare time, he likes to sleep, eat, read novels, play volleyball, and go running. When asked to share something about himself, Heru said, "My laugh and my accent are funny." For him, the best thing about the PEP Summer Bridge Program is meeting professors, and figuring out their different teaching methods.
Phoukhaothong Thammarak is from Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he graduated from Washburn High School. Phoukhaothong would like to get a degree in engineering from St. Olaf. He would like to study abroad in either Korea or Thailand. While at St. Olaf, Phoukhaothong would like to be involved with the Educational Talent Search (ETS). In his spare time, he likes to shoot pool, play golf, football and basketball. For him, the best thing about the PEP Summer Bridge Program is getting a head start on college, both academically and socially.
Angelica Torralba is from Minneapolis, Minnesota where she graduated from Washburn High School. Angelica is thinking about majoring in Multicultural Studies, Communications and Business. She would like to study abroad in Cuba, Spain, and some domestic traveling in possibly Chicago. Her favorite thing about PEP was dancing around Hoyme Hall and meeting other people who are new to the school.
Mee Vang is from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Mee is undecided about her major, but she is thinking perhaps Japanese and Asian studies. She would like to study abroad in Asia. Mee says that she would like to graduate from St. Olaf in four years and actively get involved in some organizations on campus. In her spare time, she likes to hang out with friends, go places, volunteer, and run her business. When asked to share something about herself, Mee said, "My four sisters and I run a greeting card business that we own."
Kou Vang is from St. Paul, Minnesota, where he graduated from Central High School. Kou wants to major in biology, genetics, and computer science. He would also like to study abroad in Asia. In his spare time, Kou likes to surf the net, play football, basketball, and baseball. For him, the best thing about the PEP Summer Bridge Program is that this PEP biology class gives him a head start on his biology major.
Cindy Vongsaly is from Sioux City, Iowa, where she graduated from North High School. Cindy wants to be a biology and/or a music education major. She would like the opportunity to study abroad, but is not sure where she would like to go. While at St. Olaf, she hopes to be involved in Asian studies and band. In her spare time, Cindy likes to play and listen to music. For her, the best things about the PEP Summer Bridge Program are getting a head start on college, being able to take a class and get credit for it, and meeting all the wonderful people in the program.
Molly Woods is from Nerstrand, Minnesota, where she graduated from Faribault High School. Molly is undecided about a major, but she definitely knows that she wants to work with people. She would like to study abroad to Greece, Italy, or Scotland. While at St. Olaf, Molly hopes to be active in the St. Olaf Choir. In her spare time, she likes to hang out with friends, sing, dance, and talk. When asked to share the best thing about the PEP Summer Bridge Program, she said, "getting to be a part of such a diverse group of people. It is just so refreshing to be around people with new opinions and outlooks on life."
Brad Wourms is from Cohasset, Minnesota, where he graduated from Grand Rapids High School. Brad wants to be a nursing major. While at St. Olaf, he plans to be on the men's swim team, diving. In his spare time, he likes to wakeboard, snowboard, skateboard, bike, and dive. When asked to share something about himself, Brad said, "I am very sarcastic." For him, the best things about the PEP Summer Bridge Program are making new friends and getting to know the St. Olaf campus before all the other first-year students.
Bin Xue is from Northfield, Minnesota, where he graduated from Northfield High School. Bin wants to be a math and computer science major. He would also like to study abroad to Germany, Japan, France, or Britain. While at St. Olaf, he hopes to be involved in the Asian Conversation group. In his spare time, Bin likes to play basketball, play computer games and Playstation 2 games. When asked to share something about himself, Bin said, "I can easily make and be friends with everyone." For him, the best thing about the PEP Summer Bridge Program is the study skills preparation for college.
