Goals and objectives for the Framework Plan were developed by concensus through the use of a questionnaire and a facilitiated prioritization exercise. The resulting goals and objectives for the Framework Plan were determined to be most important:
- Provide a vision for the campus for the next twenty-five years
Provide a plan which reflects the College mission and church context
Encourage and maintain the residential tradition of the campus
Indentify and preserve critical open space
Provide a land-use plan to manage the entire 1000 acre campus for teaching, reflection, and enjoyment
Improve pedestrian and vehicular circulation patterns. Determine parking requirements and best distribution
Maximize the use of existing facilities for renovation and additions and create a strategy for campus-wide space utilization
Enable low maintenance, low utility costs in new facilities
Establish a plan for ongoing maintenance and renovation of existing facilities
- Protect the campus from outside incursions
