St. Olaf College Upward Bound (UB) is a federally-funded TRiO program designed to help high school students reach college by providing academic and personal support and guidance. St. Olaf College Upward Bound students are from

families below 150% of poverty and would be the first generation in their family to attend college. St. Olaf Upward Bound has been hosted by the College since 1989.

TRiO Programs are funded under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, and were initially just three programs. Click here to learn more about TRiO and Educational Opportunity programs at St. Olaf College.

The Council for Opportunity in Education is a non-profit organization dedicated to the expansion of educational opportunities throughout the United States. The Council works in conjunction with colleges, universities and agencies that host TRiO programs to specifically help low-income and disabled Americans enter college and graduate.

The MN TRiO is the professional organization for personnel affiliated with TRiO programs throughout the state of Minnesota. MN TRiO is one of eight state chapters which form the Mid-America Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel (MAEOPP). In addition to Minnesota, MAEOPP's member states include Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio and Wisconsin.
