Building Regulations
Visitors
The Buntrock Commons welcomes visitors and guests. We ask visitors and guests to comply with all college and building policies. Policies may be obtained from both the information desk on the first level and the Buntrock Commons director's office, located on the second level.
Smoking
Smoking is not permitted in the Buntrock Commons. Smoking is permitted at designated locations on the Commons plaza.
Parking
Visitor parking is located in the parking lot directly across from the north entrance of the Commons.
Animals
No pets are permitted in the building. Guide and assistance dogs are not considered pets.
Skates
The use of skateboards, inline skates, roller skates, and similar items is not permitted in the building.
Dress
Shirts and shoes are required in all food service areas of the building.
Vendor/Solicitation Information
Groups or individuals that wish to distribute or sell literature or merchandise, or who wish to recruit students or seek membership or support for organizations, shall be subject to the following regulations:
- All campus-affiliated student organizations or individuals desiring to sell merchandise or services on campus must schedule that activity through the director of the Buntrock Commons. If an organization is selling merchandise through an outside vendor (i.e. sweaters, posters), a contract must be arranged at least two weeks prior to the sale through the director of the Commons.
- All campus and/or non-campus organizations or individuals desiring to distribute printed materials or establish a point of contact with college students, faculty or staff within the Commons should clear their activities with the director of the Buntrock Commons.
- Non-campus affiliated organizations or individuals whose purpose is selling merchandise or services or distributing literature and/or information are prohibited from activity on campus unless sponsored by an officially recognized student organization or department or approved by the director of the Commons.
- St. Olaf College reserves the right to determine what items can be sold on campus and on what locations.
Commons personnel reserve the right to ask anyone to leave the Buntrock Commons for inappropriate behavior or any activity deemed in conflict with the college's mission or purpose.
