Meg HennessyInterview questions for Northfield Reads & Counts and
the Off-Campus Work Study Program Participants

Name: Meg Hennessy ’10
Hometown: Saint Paul, MN

I work for the YMCA child watch and youth development. I am responsible for watching kids while their parents use the gym facilities. I coordinate different activities with the kids, teach classes, and create curriculum for youth development programs. I applied for off campus work study because I enjoy working with kids, which is something you can’t do on campus. It can be difficult to find a job on campus and community based work-study is a great way to find some interesting jobs in Northfield.  My site supervisor has been wonderful and I have had the opportunity to work with wide range of people. I work about four to six hours a week including planning and time management. Overall it has been a really rewarding work experience for me, the kids are a lot of fun, the parents are nice, and the program coordinators make it easy to my job.
