Dean for First-Year Students
Rosalyn Eaton-Neeb '87
Welcome to all new Oles! I'm pleased that you have chosen to join the St Olaf community and I hope that the new academic year is beginning well for you.
As first year dean, I am the person new students (not just first years) may turn to for support. I am willing to answer your questions - or to help you find the answers if I don't have them. Your first year here will be exciting.......and challenging. Please know that you are not alone as you learn to make your way in this community. Take advantage of all this place has to offer - and learn how to balance your classes, activities and down time!
Who am I?
I joined the dean of students staff in September, 2006, after having spent 3 years directing the Alumni and Parent Relations program at St Olaf. I received my master's degree from Bowling Green State University in Ohio, was a hall director at Ball State University in Indiana and then moved on to the University of Iowa (Go Hawks!), where I had a few different student life jobs and also received a Ph.D. in 1997. Both graduate degrees are in student development and higher education policy. I worked in leadership development and then as an associate dean of students in Massachusetts before returning to St Olaf. My return to student life is a return to my first love, which is students.
I have two young boys and a husband - all of whom you'll see around campus with and without me. My sons believe themselves to be Oles.
