Property Insurance Information for Students
St. Olaf College does not carry insurance coverage on the personal property of students, nor do we administer such an insurance program to which students may subscribe. We advise students who do not have coverage available under a family homeowner policy to consider purchasing a renter's insurance policy through an insurance agency. This type of coverage could prove to be invaluable in the event of a loss.
St. Olaf maintains an excellent security force which provides 24-hour security service for the entire campus community. However, because they cannot be everywhere on campus at all times, it is recommended that consideration be given to taking that extra measure of precaution, particularly if costly equipment such as personal computers, stereo components and other high-cost items are brought to campus.
