The International Student Advisor offers assistance to international students – those who are required to have a visa in order to study in the U.S. (F-1, J-1, or other visa status). These include degree-seeking students, non-degree-seeking exchange students, and language house assistants. The ISA seeks to educate, counsel, befriend, and advise international students on academic, personal, career, and immigration issues. In addition to those students who need a visa to study in the U.S., the ISA also works with American Third Culture Kids or Global Nomads.
We contribute to the international integration of campus through planning programs such as International Student Orientation, International Night, Friendship Family program, International Education Week, International Student Picnic, the International Student Banquet, etc. In addition, the ISA serves in an Advisor to the International Students Organization (ISO). The ISA also provides annual Social Security, tax preparation, work authorization sessions (CPT & OPT), etc.
