Academic Support Center
The St. Olaf Academic Support Center (ASC) offers a variety of no-fee services to assist students in meeting the demands of higher education by becoming better independent and collaborative learners. The ASC has contact with more than 30% of the students on campus each year and hires about 10% of the student body for various typoes of tutoring in the course of a year. Several programs offer help to students:
- Math Clinics offer help with calculus and statistics homework.
- Writing Place offers help with papers and other writing assignments.
- The Tutoring Program provides one-on-one help in most subject areas for students with serious problems in a class.
- Student Disability Services (SDS) offers help to disabled students in developing and implementing individual action plans requesting accomodation, and optimizing study habits.
Times and locations for Writing Place and Math Clinics are listed in the blue section of The Book under the Academic Support Center heading.
