Office of Multicultural Affairs and Community Outreach
The Office of Multicultural Affairs and Community Outreach (MACO) provides services and assistance concerning issues and concerns of Asian American, African American, Hispanic/Latino American and Native American students. In particular, it provides academic, financial, personal, career, social counseling and support as needed. It also seeks to promote the intellectual, social and moral development of all students on campus through the advancement of an understanding of culture and heritage. It is with purposeful intent that coordination and planning for cultural/educational programming is integrated with the St. Olaf campus community in an effort to raise the level of cultural awareness and appreciation for ethnic difference.
The Office of Multicultural Affairs and Community Outreach acts as a liaison for other areas of the college providing outreach for admissions and a resource for the entire St. Olaf campus and local community. In addition, the director of the Office of Multicultural Affairs and Community Outreach serves in an advisory role to the multicultural student organizations known as Harambe, Gospel Club, other student organizations, and individuals who have interests and concerns in the area of multicultural services and programming.
The Office of Multicultural Affairs and Community Outreach can be found in Buntrock Commons 112 and at ext. 3060.
