Jennifer Anderson Koenig ’87, preaching
St. Olaf students organized an independent congregation in the spring of 1952 when they saw the need for an on-campus worshipping community and programs to serve others. Each student who worships or participates in congregational activities is considered a member of the student congregation (without surrendering membership in home congregations). Students elect a council (president, four vice presidents, secretary, treasurer and two representatives from each class — including two first-year students added to the council in September) to organize the life and work of the congregation. Each vice president serves as head of one of four commissions: Extra-Campus Activities, Life and Growth, Stewardship and Worship.
