| Old Science
Center
The Science Center houses the Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Math (also in Old Music Hall) and Nursing departments. The equipment,
labs, and other facilities in the Science Center are among the best
in the country. In 2004, Biology,
Math and Chemistry ranked as the first, third, and sixth most popular majors at St. Olaf.
The science departments provide many opportunities for students and professors to work together on undergraduate research. Summer months in the Science Center are dedicated to research projects such as those in the Physics Department or Computer Science Department. Students participating in undergraduate research often publish articles
in scientific journals and present their research at conferences throughout
the United States.
The Science Center is also home to the Glasoe Science
Library, one of the branches of the St. Olaf Libraries.
