We’ll talk about the elements of data visualization, discuss what makes a good visualization, and give you some resources to explore data vis yourself. And if you have some data vis ambitions, bring your ideas! Instructional Technology will help you make your dreams a reality. Faculty, staff, and students are welcome.

Rare Norwegian Books Open House
Rolvaag Library
See some rare Norwegian books from the Rolvaag Library Special Collections. These include:

  • 19th century editions of books by De Fire Store (Henrik Ibsen, Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson, Jonas Lie, Alexander Kielland)
  • A page of a prison diary written by WWII Norwegian resistance journalist Petter Moen
  • The biggest edition of an Ibsen play ever published (over 2 feet tall)
  • Norwegian American publications including a newspaper from 1906 featuring a cartoon criticizing St. Olaf for teaching Henrik Ibsen's plays.
  • A book by Peder Dass published in 1714
  • First editions of books by Norwegian American writer and former chair of the Norwegian Department Ole E. Rølvaag.
  • Books printed in Gothic script and nynorsk
Stop in at Special Collections (Rølvaag Library Room 135A) anytime between 4pm and 6pm!
