Library Position Details

This position entails conducting walking rounds of Rolvaag Library in the evening and on weekends to check on and remind library users of our mask and distancing policies. This work can involve uncomfortable interactions, so you need to have confidence and an ability to communicate in a positive but effective manner. Work includes: - walking through Rolvaag Library during predetermined 1-2 hour shifts during the evenings and weekends - speaking with library users who are not following mask and physical distancing policies. Also addressing issues related to study room use (just one person per study room) and food consumption (food not permitted in the library). - cleaning surfaces such as tables, doorknobs, photocopiers, etc in high-traffic areas. - writing and submitting a brief written summary at the end of each shift
Times Available: Monday-Friday evenings - shifts between 5pm and midnight; Saturday and Sundays - shifts throughout the day and evening:
The PR Assistant works closely with the PR Committee Co-chairs to complete the following creative and technical tasks: design posters, signs, brochures and flyers for the St. Olaf Libraries, coordinate outreach strategies and event planning, and ensure that the St. Olaf Libraries brand is well-represented in its multiple marketing channels.

Library Employment Agreement

If employed, I agree to regularly work my designated schedule. I understand that work through to the end of the semester is required and that my schedule will be adjusted to accommodate my exam schedule. I agree to find my own replacement for shifts that I cannot work, or obtain supervisor approval at least one week in advance of an absence (except in case of an illness or other unforeseeable event).
