Fall Regional Conference
Friday, September 13 & Saturday September 14, 2013
Our fall conference will be held this year at Southwest Minnesota State University, Marshall, MN. Conference events will be held in the Fine Arts building on the SMSU campus.
Please join us Friday evening, Saturday morning and afternoon for a weekend of theater sessions and activities at SMSU.
Events:
• "Cover the Walls"- Students, faculty, staff, and theatre professionals- SHOW US YOUR DESIGN WORK! This is an open invitation for designers to exhibit their work and share with fellow artists their ideas and approaches to design. Student display work will be entered into a juried competition with scholarship awards for free registration to the USITT National Conference in March 2014. (See Guidelines for Exhibiting). Setup begins at 6pm on Friday.
• "Technical Solutions Exhibit" The Technical Solutions Exhibit is much like the USITT national Theatre Technology Exhibit (Tech Expo). Student display work will be entered into a juried competition with scholarship awards for free registration to the USITT National Conference in March 2014. (See Guidelines for Technical Solutions Exhibit for complete information). Setup begins at 6pm on Friday.
• Dinner and Social Hour Friday evening beginning at 7pm. (Meal included in registration fee) Located in the Garden area near the Fine Arts Building.
• Opening Session following dinner- Friday Evening- Northern Boundary Membership meeting (8pm). Show and Tell Session. Bring images or soundfiles of your recent work- designs, production solutions, class projects, facility renovations, etc. This is our chance to learn about what is going on in our region. Show us your stuff!
• Social Event (9:30pm) Bowling! Also, students are invited to a student event hosted by the SMSU Drama Club.
• Workshop Sessions: Saturday Morning and afternoon in and around the Fine Arts building on the SMSU campus. Select from sessions on Social Media & Theatre Marketing, Media and Projection Design for Live Performance, Succeeding in the Industry, Rigging Safety and Inspection, Staying Healthy- managing work load & schedules.
• Final Wrap-up session 4:00 pm on Saturday. Design Awards will be announced.

(Non-members- add $15 for membership)
• Student Member $5

Students participating in the Design Exhibit will have the registration fee waived, but still must be a student member.
