Late Night Musings

by Todd Reemtsma, NBS Section Chairperson

ToddI had a very strong temptation for this article to simply make it three words long –
Be More Active
– but decided there are too many other items to cover to  keep it that brief.
There are certainly multiple meanings to those three words. My primary request is to ask for more involvement in the Northern Boundary Section. Wouldn’t it be great to see students on the board and several active committees to create more events and an even bigger and better Fall Conference? Another meaning of those three words is the desire to see everyone moving in a positive direction and not stagnating in their studies, artistic pursuits, or career. And so please take those three words to heart and be more active.

This year our 2015 Northern Boundary Section Fall Conference will be held at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota on Friday, September 25th and Saturday, September 26th. More information is included in the newsletter regarding specific location, lodging, and schedule. One thing that I would ask of everyone reading this newsletter is to pass this information along to other folks that you think might be interested in attending, but are not currently members of the Northern Boundary Section. Let’s build up our attendance and build up our community!

This next spring we will head West and convene in Salt Lake City, Utah for the 2016 USITT Annual Conference March 16 – 19, 2016. It is another election year for our Northern Boundary Section and we will be looking for candidates to contribute to the success of our section.
Next year is also the 400th Anniversary of William Shakespeare’s First Folio and we hope that we can make sure that the Northern Boundary Section is involved in the “Shakes-year” celebrations around our section.
Ultimately the article is a little shorter than usual, but the call is made. Will you step up and be more active?
