Scholarship Awards:

2011 National USITT Conference & Stage Expo usittconf

and

Prague Quadrennial of Performance pqsmcopyDesign and Space.

As one of the members of our scholarship reading committee commented, “Let’s give them all money!” Ah, if only we could.

First I have to say ‘thank you’ to USITT, all of our NBS members, SECOA, and Stage Technology for making these scholarships possible. Without the membership and corporate sponsorship we would not be able to offer the number of scholarships that we do and in an amount to truly help offset the expenditures of travelling to the annual conference.

Secondly I would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to our scholarship reading committee – Corey Shelsta, Mickey Henry, Mike Messer, Ricky Greenwell, and Terena Wilkens – for taking the time to review all of the scholarship applications and accomplish the difficult task of selecting the ones to receive scholarships.

Thirdly I would like to say ‘thank you’ to all of the students that applied for USITT-NBS Scholarships. The opportunity to attend the annual conference is a wonderful one and we certainly wish that we could offer more money and more scholarships to help cover the expenses involved, especially in the years when the annual conference is so far away.

Lastly I would like to say ‘thank you’ to all of the faculty/staff that encouraged their students to apply for the scholarships. Thank you for recognizing the value in student attendance of the annual conference and offering guidance to your students to help them get there.
