2015-16 USITT-NBS Student Scholarships

Thank you to USITT, all of our NBS members, SECOA, and Norcostco/Stage Technology for making these scholarships possible. Without the membership and corporate sponsorship we would not be able to offer the number of scholarships that we do and in an amount to truly help offset the expenditures of travelling to the annual conference.
Thank you to our scholarship reading committee – Michael Burgoyne, Tiffany Fier, Ricky Greenwell, Jerry Kraft, and Corey Shelsta – for taking the time to review all of the scholarship applications and accomplishing the difficult task of ranking the applicants.
salt lake    Thank you to all of the students that applied for USITT-NBS Scholarships to travel to Salt Lake City. The opportunity to attend the annual conference is a wonderful one and we certainly wish that we could offer more money and more scholarships to help cover the expenses involved, especially in a year when the annual conference is so far away.
Thank you to all of the faculty/staff that encouraged their students to apply for the scholarships. Thank you for recognizing the value in student attendance of the annual conference and offering guidance to your students to help them get there.

The winners of the 2015-16 USITT-NBS Scholarships to attend the 2016 USITT Conference were announced in December. Congratulations to:

• The SECOA Scholarship
    Becky Raines, St. Olaf College
• The John Mullen Scholarship from Norcostco/Stage Technology
    Emma Downey, St. Olaf College
• The USITT NBS Scholarship(2)
    Elsa Larsen, Gustavus Adolphus College
    Matthew Kornegay, St. Mary’s University
• The NBS “Doughnut” Scholarship
    Chris Schneider, Gustavus Adolphus College

Students who are interested in the scholarship program can make application by October 15 each year. The online application process for the 2017 National Conference will be announced in the August, 2016 newsletter.
