Position Summary:
The Department of Theater at St. Olaf College invites applications for a full-time, term faculty and technical director in Theater at the level of Assistant Professor, to begin August 2021. The position will be split evenly between the faculty appointment and the staff/administrative appointment.

Job Purpose:
Create accurate product descriptions and images for Monkey Wrench Productions’ e-commerce store. Monkey Wrench Productions sells theatrical, video, lighting, audio, and special effects for the live event industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take detailed photos of and list items for sale on various e-commerce platforms, using detailed copy principles and description requirements
- Edit, crop, and resize images using photo editing software
- Create product photos with a watermark, or source images from our vendors
- Create accurate listings for our e-commerce store
- Utilize keywords and detailed descriptions to increase price and sell-through of parts listed for sale on e-commerce platforms
- Categorize Products
- Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential
- Meet listing and production quotas for daily goals
- Help prevent the business from incurring losses by ensuring accurate descriptions
- Update listings and pricing as needed
- Perform other related duties as required
Skills/Qualifications:
- E-commerce listing experience
- Experience with photo editing software such as Paint or Photoshop
- Knowledge of theatrical systems including audio, video, lighting, etc
- Ability to prioritize work and multi-task
- Results orientated: proven ability to set, meet and exceed established goals

Job Purpose:
Overhire Install Chimp helps with systems installations for Monkey Wrench Productions on an as-needed basis. They are responsible for high caliber installation of systems equipment to help establish Monkey Wrench Productions as a go-to installer in the local and national market, while maintaining safety and efficiency on the jobsite.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reports to Systems Chimp/Site Manager
- Understand the overall expectations and timeline of the project
- Pull and terminate wire
- Setup equipment racks
- Rigging of AV, lighting, and sound equipment
- Setup and troubleshoot systems equipment
- Maintain clean and safe working areas
- Be cognizant of the job site surroundings and immediately report any safety hazards to the Site Manager
- Company tool and equipment maintenance, including controlling and safekeeping of all tools in the shop and on the jobsite
- Company vehicle upkeep and cleanliness
- Shop upkeep and cleanliness
- Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential
- Other duties as assigned
Skills/Qualifications:
- Must have live event and/or field installation experience
- Entertainment installation and construction experience
- Knowledge of AV
- Ability to read and understand construction style documentation
- Ability to manage shifting priorities
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated, self-starter
- OSHA 30 certified, PMP certified a plus
- ETCP Rigging or electrical Certification a plus

Job Purpose:
System Chimp coordinates and executes systems installations for Monkey Wrench Productions from start to finish. They are responsible for maximizing client experience and budget to help establish Monkey Wrench as a go-to installer in the local and national market. All while maintaining safety and efficiency on and off the jobsite.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend meetings with clients and other project subcontractors to make sure client goals are met on time and on budget
- Meet with clients and inspect site, acquire site photos, measurements, etc
- Track and follow up on leads, ensure project processes are being completed in a timely manner and address issues as they arise
- Responsible for generating and sending comprehensive scope of work and estimates to client
- Work with management to build contract terms in estimates
- Finalize design and send to CAD
- Acquire needed labor, hardware, and equipment to meet project deadlines
- Determine crew needs and schedule for upcoming projects
- Read and interpret architectural engineering drawings
- Understand overall expectations and timeline of the project
- Attend Foreman/Construction meetings as required
- Maintain record of communications between MWP, General Contractors, clients and consultants as needed
- Coordinate and continuously update expectations and schedule with the GC, EC, and/or customer
- When projects are complete, coordinate schedules for programming, system testing, system commissioning, and end user training
- Complete redlines and build close out docs
- Implement the budget for each assigned project
- Make educated executive decisions regarding minor issues on the job site
- Prepare reports of all projects and submit for review to the owner
- Maintain a Job Binder with a daily log of all tasks, completed issues, and actions required by others
- Continually review Cost Analysis Reports during and after each project to measure productivity
- Inspect all installation work periodically to assure company practices are being followed
- Responsible for seeing that all foremen and technicians are complying with company, state, and federal regulations and laws
- Must be competent in lighting and rigging from an integration standpoint
- Meet with client at conclusion of project and do final walk through
- Follow up with client 30 and 90 days after project completion for updates and maintain good rapport
- Develop and maintain knowledge of current and new technologies with manufacturer reps
- Manage vendor relationships by addressing product updates, product problems, and troubleshooting issues
- Always strive to build customer relationships to develop business
- Pull wire and terminate to plates, panels and racks
- Lace, terminate, and label rack wiring in equipment racks
- Mount and rig of AV equipment including displays, screens, projectors, speakers, cameras, racks, as well as lighting and rigging equipment, and stage drapery
- Inspect, troubleshoot, test and correct your own work
- Maintain clean working areas
- Be cognizant of the jobsite surroundings and immediately deal with any safety concerns
- Company tool and equipment maintenance, including controlling and safekeeping of all tools, in the shop and on jobsite
- Organize job box with gear necessary for the install and remove box at completion of project
- Provide project update at weekly meetings
