Service Manager

Description:  The Service Manager oversees the technical operations of the company. The position requires excellent troubleshooting skills and a basic knowledge of mechanics and electronics. Responsibilities include providing maintenance and repairs for in-house rental stock of automated theatrical lighting, conducting warranty repairs, providing technical support for sales customers, filling parts orders, managing parts inventory and maintaining office computer and phone networks. Experience with automated theatrical lighting is strongly preferred. Computer support and networking skills also preferred.

Job Duties & Objectives
•  Repair and maintain RAI rental stock
•  Assist with check-in, delivery and pick-up of RAI rental stock as needed
•  Provide phone and email technical support to rental, installation and sales customers
•  Complete warranty repairs of selected products and properly document service work
•  Complete non-warranty repairs of customer equipment and properly document service work
•  Coordinate off-site or factory repairs with other RAI staff and complete RMA paperwork
•  Create quotes, S/Os and P/Os for parts and service customers
•  Provide on-site technical support for installation and rental customers
•  Provide configuration and basic video/graphics tech support for LED curtain/display products
•  Provide configuration, programming, repairs and maintenance for LED curtain/display products
•  Coordinate with company president and determine service rates and procedures
•  Service and maintain showroom equipment
•  Coordinate parts ordering
•  Inventory and manage parts, accessory and supply stock
•  Assist RAI staff and external IT consultants in maintaining and repairing IT equipment such as desktop computers, laptop computers, networking equipment and server.
•  Assist RAI staff and external telecom consultants in maintaining and repair the phone and voicemail systems

Supervisor:  Company President
Hours Travel:  40/week  9 AM – 5 PM
Occasional nights and weekends as needed by appointment
Limited travel outside the MSP metro as needed by appointment
Education: High School or GED Equivalent required; 2-year associates degree in related field preferred.

Experience/Skills:
General familiarity with Electronics & Mechanics. Knowledge of MS Windows & MS Office Computer Networking Preferred
Salary & Benefits: Salary is commiserate with experience and education.

Technical Director for Fine Arts Programming at the College of St. Benedict & St. John’s University.

Some quick facts:
• Fine Arts Programming is a joint department between College of St. Benedict (CSB) and St. John’s University (SJU). 
• CSBSJU is located just outside St. Cloud MN (70 miles/1hr 15min Northwest of Minneapolis)
• 3 theaters (300, 500 & 1000 seats), 1 black box and an amphitheater.
• Fine Arts Programming presents around 30 shows in its regular season (Sept-May)
• Fine Arts Programming additionally supports between 200-300 other events (rentals, conferences & academics) across all of the venues yearly.
• The primary technical labor for all events and the venues is provided by college students.
