Position Opening:
SDSU Interim Scene Shop Foreman

    The Division of Performing Arts at South Dakota State University is seeking an interim scene shop foreman for the upcoming academic year, August through May.  Duties include but are not limited to supervision of students in the scene shop, creating construction drawings, maintenance and repair of shop equipment, purchasing materials and supplies to support the show builds, scheduling of student workers, supervising load-ins and strikes, ensuring due dates and timelines for scenery are met, and maintaining a safe and positive work environment.  This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position with flexible scheduling to accommodate weekend and evening shifts as needed. The person filling this interim position will have the opportunity to apply for the permanent position during the search process in the upcoming academic year. BA, BS or BFA is required, MFA is preferred.  A secondary specialty such as lighting, sound, scenic painting, properties, etc, is also useful but not required.
