The St. Olaf men's basketball team traveled to Minneapolis on Wednesday, February 11th for the second game of the season against Augsburg College. In a hard fought game, the Auggies held off the Oles, enroute to a 81-63 Auggie victory.

In a game that was reminiscent of the first meeting of these two teams earlier this year, both teams got up and down the floor quickly. Augsburg was able to take advantage of St. Olaf turnovers, scoring 18 points off turnovers to the Oles one. Despite giving up several second shots, St. Olaf trailed by only four points at halftime.

In the second half, Augsburg slowly pulled away from the Oles and came away with the win 81-63.

The Oles were led by Ted Gonsior (Jr. Centerville, Minn.) who led all scorers with 20 points. Matt Schlenker (Sr. Rochester, Minn.) also reached double figures, scoring 12 points.

The loss puts the Oles at 4-13 in MIAC play and 7-15 overall. The next game for the Oles is Saturday, February 14th when Macalester College comes to Northfield for a 3:00 game.
