Men's hockey splits weekend series with Gustavus
February 17, 2004
The St. Olaf men's hockey team traveled to St. Peter for the second game of their weekend series. Coming off a 5-3 win the night before, the Ole men were looking for a sweep. Gustavus however took an early lead and eventually won the game, 4-1.
The Oles allowed the Gusties to score four goals before they answered back to prevent a shutout. Pat Gilles (Jr. Waunakee, Wis.) snapped a low shot past the goalie for the only Ole goal.
Garret Hasti (Sr. St. Louis Park, Minn.) got the start for the Oles in the 4-1 loss.
With the weekend split, the Oles are 4-5-3 in MIAC action and 7-10-4 overall. The Oles have a chance to clinch a play off spot for the first time in 13 years with four games remaining in the regular season schedule.
The Oles are at home for both games this weekend against Concordia College. They play Friday, February 20th at 8:00 p.m. and again Saturday, February 21st at 2:00 p.m.
