Northfield resident and former women's physical education instructor Edlo Solum will be honored Thursday, Feb. 26, at 11:20 a.m. in the Buntrock Commons Crossroads immediately after the daily chapel service at 11 a.m. Solum, who was inducted into the St. Olaf Athletic Hall of Fame in 2001, was the college's first Title IX coordinator, a position she held for four years. She taught women's physical education from 1937 to 1976 and held administrative positions within the athletics department for 15 of those years.

Prior to the ceremonies honoring Solum, a chapel talk will be given in Boe Memorial Chapel at 11 a.m. by St. Olaf admissions interviewer, assistant women's soccer coach and assistant fastpitch coach Ruthie Neuger. The public is welcome at daily chapel services, which are rebroadcast weeknights at 9 p.m. on Classical 89.3, the college's public radio service.
