Men's tennis tops Concordia 5-4

The St. Olaf men's tennis team defeated Concordia College 5-4 in Moorhead, Minnesota on February 21st, 2004.

The match was extremely close from start to finish. The Cobbers got off to a two to one match lead after the doubles matches had been completed. However, the Oles edged the Cobbers in singles by winning four of the six singles matches. With the match score tied four to four, sophmore Mike Matsuura clinched the win for the Oles with his victory at number four singles.

Ted Nagel (Sr., Oglesby, Ill.) and Tom Nagel (Sr., Oglesby, Ill.) won their doubles match as well as their individual singles matches. Also scoring a win in singles was Mike Matsuura (So., St. Cloud, Minn.) and Byron McDonald (FY, Hudson, Wis.).

The St. Olaf men's tennis team has a dual match record of 2-1. The Oles play non-conference opponent, the College of St. Scholastica, on Friday, February 27th at 6:30 at Owatonna Tennis and Fitness Club.n
