Women's soccer lose to the Knights

Despite the long tradition of rivalry between St. Olaf and Carleton, the St. Olaf women's soccer team was unable to fight for a victory against their cross-town rivals on Saturday, November 1st. The Oles lost their last game of the season 6-2 at Carleton. The first goal for the Knights didn't come until the 23rd minute but from there it was all down hill. Though Kristi Parks (Sr., Wayzata, Minn.) with an assist from Katie Bierlein (FY, Apple Valley, Minn.) was able to sneak in one goal in the middle of the 4 scored by Carleton, the Oles faced a half time deficit of 3 goals.

The second half went slightly better for the Oles, only allowing the Knights to slip past their defense twice but only managing one goal for themselves. Parks was again the scorer. This she intercepted a pass and scored the goal unassisted. The Oles were only out shot by the Knights 18-14 despite the goal difference.

This concludes the Oles season with a record just under .500 at 8-9-1 overall and 5-5-1 in the MIAC. The Oles finished 7th in the conference.
