Concordia College defeated St. Olaf College 47-14 at Saturday afternoon in Moorhead, ending a St. Olaf two game winning streak. The Cobbers 531 yards of offense were too much for the Oles, who couldn?t answer the Cobber high charged attack.

Concordia opened the scoring with 24 unanswered points scored in the first half, to send the Oles to the lockerroom with a 24-0 deficit.

After the break, the Oles got on the board in the third quarter when Aaron Stinar (Sr., Blaine, Minn.) scored on a ten yard run. Quarterback Brian Senske (Sr., Apple Valley, Minn.) found Kyle Fritze (Jr., Apple Valley, Minn.) for the two point conversion, as the Oles trailed 24-8. The Cobbers answered with a touchdown, but failed to convert on the two-point play. The Cobbers scored again in the third quarter with a 33 yard field goal to go ahead 33-8.

Concordia added seven more points in the fourth quarter before St. Olaf responded with a second touchdown. With 10:55 to go in the game, Nick Rost (FY, Faribault, Minn.) caught a 37 yard pass from QB Jason Wilsey (So., Columbia Heights, Minn.) and the two point conversion failed. The Cobbers scored once more late in the game, yielding the final score of 47-14.

Running back Bobby Andrade (FY., Bell Gardens, Calif.) led the Ole rushers, carrying the ball 17 times for 63 yards. Andrade went over 1000 yards on the season, bringing his total to 1031 yards. Senske was eight-for-19 with 59 yards and added another six yards rushing. Wilsey was four-for-five with 60 yards and one touchdown. Rost led all recievers with eight catches for 89 yards and one touchdown.

The loss moves St. Olaf to 3-6 overall, 2-5 in the MIAC. The Oles end their season next Saturday when they travel to St. Peter for a game against Gustavus. The game begins at 1:00 p.m. and will be broadcast on KDHL 920 AM.
