Oles slip to Eau Claire, 4-3

St. Olaf played their second game of the season on Saturday, November 9th. The Oles played the Eau Claire Blugolds for the second time. This was a non-conference game. The Oles lost 4-3.

Early in first period the Blugolds took the lead. Kate Barnett (Jr.-C, Burnsville, Minn.) was the first to put one in the net for the Oles. Less than a minute after Barnett scored, Sarah Ray (Sr.-C, St Paul, Minn.) scored again to take the lead. Eau Claire scored one more to tie it up at the end of the first period.

The Oles started the second period with a 2-2 tie. About five minutes into this period Brittany Schultheis (Jr., Shoreview, Minn.) scored with an assist from Maria Richardson (Fr., New Brighton, Minn.). The Oles won this period and went into the third with a 3-2 lead.

Eau Claire scored two goals this period to tie it up and take the lead. St. Olaf played hard but was not able to come back. Kerry Rollwagen (Jr., Mendota Heights, Minn.) had 26 saves. Next up for the Ole women is a game Friday, November 14th in Superior.
