An additional 800,000 men, women and children will have the opportunity this December to enjoy the St. Olaf Christmas Festival. The Twin Cities Public Television production of the 2001 St. Olaf Christmas Festival concert, "Love Divine, Illumine our Darkness," will be broadcast again not only by PBS stations nationwide, but also by American Forces Radio and Television Service. AFRTS serves American service men and women, Department of Defense civilians, and their families stationed in more than 175 countries around the world. The program will be broadcast in each locale at 7 a.m. on Christmas Day ? as a lead-in to the popular "Today" Show. Vice President for College Relations Jan McDaniel credits Manager of Music Organizations B.J. Johnson for identifying AFRTS as a potential outlet for the special. "It was a fabulous idea." "Knowing that they had the broadest possible distribution, we went to them first," she said. "We sent them a copy of the DVD. They loved it and snapped it up immediately."
