Along with three other players out due to injuries and illness, the Oles had to reshuffle lines and expect to put forth a strong defensive effort.
The first period was a rough battle both in the offensive and defensive zones. The Oles out-shot the Cobbers 9 to 8, however, the Cobbers were successful on one attempt at 14:27 in the first. However, the Cobbers were getting frustrated with the Oles' great defensive efforts, leading to a handful of penalties, including a 10 minute game misconduct assessed to one of the Cobbers.
The Oles played the third period with the same level of intensity and did not let up on their physical play. Putting eight shots on goal, the Oles put forth a strong effort to try to gain on the Cobbers' lead. However, the Cobbers scored once more at 8:08 in the third. The final score was Oles 0, Cobbers 3.
