Men's Tennis defeats Carleton

St. Olaf College Men's tennis team defeated crosstown rival Carleton College on Monday the 29th, with a score of 6-3. This win brings the Oles to 7-2 in the MIAC and 11-7 overall.
In singles action, no.1 singles Karl Wilbur defeated Mike Ottum 6-1,6-0. At no. 2 and no. 3 Ted and Tom Nagel defeated their opponents 6-2,6-2, and 6-3,6-3, respectively. No. 5 Singles Brandon Hall was also victorious 6-1,6-2. Both no. 2 and no. 5 singles Peder Thoen and Dan Cohen lost close matches with a score of 7-6,6-2 and 7-6,6-3.
In doubles, our no. 1 team Nagel/Nagel defeated Ottum/Diamond-Stanic 8-4. No. 2 doubles Tim Smith/Wilbur also posted a win with a score of 8-2. And our no.3 team of Hall/Matt Sobeski 9-7.
The Oles compete next this weekend in the Conference Tournament in St. Paul at 9:00 am.
