St. Olaf Women's tennis team finishes seventh in the MIAC tournament

The St. Olaf Women's tennis team competed Friday and Saturday May 3rd and 4th in the MIAC tournament held in St. Paul at Gustavus Adolphus. The women put is a strong performance during the dual season finishing 3-8 in the MIAC.

No. 5 singles, Jennifer Ison, played strong making her way to the concelation round final, to loose a tough match. Our first four singles seeds Jenelle Sangress, Beth Erie, Bethany Koshsiek, and Jamie Brau were defeated in 2nd round action by tough teams from St. Thomas and St. Kates. No. 6 singles Lindsay Johnson was also defeated by St. Thomas in 3rd round action.

The No. 1 doubles team of Sangress/Erie went on to take the concelation championship. No. 2 doubles team Yvonne Yang and Kristine Buchta also played strong, but were defeated in the concelation final. Our No. 3 doubles team of Lindsey Gorham and Carrie Wiersma lost to a strong St. Thomas team in 2nd round action.
