Mens Cross Country JV Competes at the St. Olaf JV Classic

While St. Olaf took their top twelve runners to compete at the Roy Griak Invitational, the remaining harriers competed in Friday's JV Classic. The Oles ran against JV teams from the national powerhouses UW-LaCrosse and UW-Eau Claire and top MIAC contenders St. John's and Carleton.
UW-LaCrosse won in perfect score fashion, sending their top five finishers across the line first. UW -Eau Claire was a distant second, St. John's took third, and St. Olaf squeeked by Carleton in a tie-breaker for fourth.
Leading the way for the Oles was Paul Sovik-Siemens (FY., Hastings, Minn.), covering the 8k course in 28:34 and securing 19th place. Aaron Peterson (Jr., Wells, Minn.) broke 29 minutes and crossed the line in 24th. A hoard of Oles led by Ryan Johnson (Sr., Bemidji, Minn.) finished from 28th through 33rd. They included Johnson, Adam Book (Jr., Loveland, Colo.), Albert Pinsonneault (Sr., St. Paul, Minn.), Brent Kudak (FY., St. Cloud, Minn.), and Jeff Freund (FY., Decorah, Iowa).
The black and gold harriers will toe the line at 4:00 PM on Friday, October 5th, at the BlueGold Invitational in Eau Claire, WI.
