Ole Fastpitch Takes Two from Royals

The Oles opened the scoring in game one with a three run second inning. Andrea Hatleli (Sr., Austin, Minn.) picked up two RBI?s and the Oles took an early 3-0 lead. St. Olaf struck again in the fourth inning, picking up two more runs and taking a 5-0 lead.

In a five run seventh inning, Hatleli and Grete Christenson (Jr., Springfield, Va.) each had RBI doubles to carry the Oles to a 10-0 win over the Royals. Christenson pitched well for the Oles, going the distance and striking out four.

In game two Carrie Cooley?s (Jr., Villard, Minn.) double to right center began a fourth inning barrage, as the Oles scored four more runs. The Royals quickly battled back, scoring three runs in the bottom half of the inning and the Ole lead was 4-3.

Christy Boraas (Sr., Madison, Minn.) doubled in the fifth inning and Cooley followed with an RBI double to bring the Ole lead to 5-3. The Oles picked up two more insurance runs in the sixth on a couple of base hits and a Hatleli two run double.

The Royals added two more runs in the seventh and Christina Moses (Sr., New Brighton, Minn.) finished off the scoring for the Oles on a solo homerun, capping off an Ole 8-5 victory. The Oles are 7-19 overall (3-11-1 MIAC) and will host Augsburg College at 4:00 on Wednesday, May 2.
