Students in grades 4-11 may still register for St. Olaf College Soccer Camp June 10-14

NORTHFIELD, Minn. ? Registration is still open for the annual St. Olaf College Soccer Camp, scheduled for Sunday, June 10, through Thursday, June 14.

The St. Olaf Soccer camp is for players who love soccer and are serious about improving their level of play. It is open to boys and girls who have completed grades 4-11. Registration forms are still being accepted.

St. Olaf men?s and women?s soccer coach Kurt Anderson will lead the camp, emphasizing passing and shooting fundamentals, dribbling and turns, defensive and offensive tactics and team-building.

The camp will feature the STAR concept, which focuses on four fundamental aspects of training: Skill, tactics, aspirations (goals in sports and life) and respect. The camp also will include discussions about nutrition, goal-setting, visualization, imagery and psychological skills, as well as daily supervised recreational activities and full-service dining in the college cafeteria with healthy, all-you-can-eat choices.

Coach Anderson has maintained a winning tradition at the national level in St. Olaf men?s soccer for 11 years. He holds a national coaching license from the U.S. Soccer Federation and has earned a national diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. He is a graduate of Augustana College (Rock Island, Ill.) and earned a master?s degree in physical education from Drake University.

Students may register as either commuter or residential campers. The commuter fee is $275 and includes meals, instruction and a St. Olaf Soccer Camp T-shirt.
