Video News: Students score with intramurals
April 6, 2009
Intramural sports are an important part of student life at St. Olaf. And with such choices as inner-tube water polo, dodgeball, kickball and broomball being offered alongside the more traditional soccer, volleyball and softball, there's something for just about everyone. This year some 2,200 students -- nearly three quarters of the student body -- have participated in at least one intramural sport.
Since Kevin Cook '96 became director of intramural and club sports at St. Olaf three years ago, participation by Oles in intramurals has increased nearly 50 percent. Cook says he's planning to expand some of the current sports for next year, and possibly even add ping pong.
