'St. Olaf Wrestles With Milton's Angel, and Prevails'
November 17, 2008
St. Olaf Professor of English Richard DuRocher recently hosted a Milton Marathon in honor of the 400th anniversary of John Milton's birth. The event featured an oral reading of Milton's epic, Paradise Lost. "Whenever you encounter a word you don't know, that's a word to pronounce with special certainty," DuRocher told the assembled Milton aficionados roughly halfway through the marathon reading. "It's probably best to mispronounce demonic names anyway."
