The St. Olaf Band Day, also known as the St. Olaf Festival of Bands, brings advanced students from the region to campus for a day of rehearsals, clinics, and a joint performance with the St. Olaf Band and the Norseman Band.
The day begins for the high school students at 9 a.m., when they come together for the first time as a large ensemble with St. Olaf Band Conductor Timothy Mahr and Norseman Band Conductor Paul Niemisto. They will rehearse all morning, and after lunch the quintet will present a clinic to the participating students. After another short rehearsal, they are ready to perform.
