Former College Pastor Cliff Swanson dies

The Rev. Clifford Swanson '42, who served as college pastor at St. Olaf for 27 years, died Thursday, June 12. Funeral services were held on Monday, June 16, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Northfield.

Swanson served as college pastor from 1954 to 1981, when he was named director of college-congregation relations. He served in that position until 1984. A St. Olaf graduate, Swanson attended Luther Seminary in St. Paul and the Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, Calif.

The Star Tribune published Swanson's obituary in Sunday's paper.
