St. Olaf College students will display the books they made by hand as part of a class titled "Art and Politics of the Book" during an exhibit today in the Crossroads of Buntrock Commons.

The books will be on display from noon to 4 p.m. Students will talk about their books from 2:30 to 3:15 p.m., and refreshments will be available at 2:30 p.m.

Drawing from environmental studies, literature and study abroad experiences, students bring together several disciplines to explore art and politics in these unique books. The Student Book Arts Exhibit will feature works such as The Library of Congress Guide to Finding Love & Happiness and a piece that puts Mary Oliver's poems "Orange" and "Mindful" into new contexts of book art.
