Friends and family members who can't make it to this weekend's commencement ceremony at St. Olaf College don't have to miss out on the excitement. Sunday's commencement exercises will be streamed live from Skoglund Center Auditorium and made available for archival viewing. This is the first year the college will provide a live Web stream of the commencement ceremony.

Because the ceremony will be held inside, seating will be limited to ticketed family members of graduating seniors. The public will be able to watch the proceedings from a few locations across campus.

Commencement exercises for the Class of 2008 will begin at 2 p.m. Streaming begins approximately 10 minutes prior to the event. This year's commencement speaker is Susan Seacrest '75. Seacrest, a clean water activist and recipient of last year's Heinz Award for the Environment, will be giving a speech titled "Four Calls: A Commencement Address." The student speaker for commencement is senior Lindsey Myers.

Other events that will be streamed live throughout Celebration Weekend include the St. Olaf Orchestra, Band and Choir concerts; the Celebration Chapel Service; the Last Lecture; and the baccalaureate service. Streaming for each event will begin approximately 10 minutes prior to its scheduled start time. Programs are available online for some of the concerts and services to allow Web viewers to follow along.
